How to turn a waiting-room screen into advertising income

A waiting-room screen can promote your own services, inform customers and potentially create local advertising income.

The key is to keep the content useful, appropriate and easy to update.

Start with your own services

Before selling advertising space, use the screen to promote services, add-ons, events or reminders that already matter to your business.

A dental practice, salon, gym, garage or clinic can use waiting time to explain services that customers may not know about.

Add local partner advertising carefully

Local advertising can work when the audience is relevant and the adverts are appropriate for the setting. Keep the number of adverts controlled so the screen does not feel like clutter.

You can sell space, swap promotion with local partners or use the screen for community notices if that fits your brand.

Use the advertiser controls to organise each agreement

DisplayFlow lets you keep each advertiser’s business and contact details together with the agreed rate, payable term, campaign dates, payment status, invoice reference and private notes.

You can send a company-branded agreement summary and a fresh one-time artwork upload link. The advertiser can submit one JPG, PNG or WebP image without gaining access to your dashboard, screens or existing Media Library.

  • Use the promotion-screen bank to advertise available space in the venue.
  • Receive uploaded artwork directly into your customer-isolated Media Library.
  • Review every graphic before adding it to a playlist or schedule.
  • Keep invoicing and payment collection in your normal accounting process.

Balance adverts with useful information

A good waiting-room loop should include customer information, opening hours, service reminders, offers and selected adverts. If everything is an advert, people may tune it out.

Use clear slides, readable text and enough time for people to understand each message.

Stop time-limited adverts on time

Set an Expiry date and time on the playlist item when an advert or offer must stop. Leave it blank only when there is no planned end. Check the timezone shown beside the field and preview the complete screen loop before it goes live.

An advertiser record keeps the agreement details; it does not by itself schedule or expire the graphic. Add the approved artwork to the correct playlist and use its playback controls for the campaign.

Make updates manageable

Advertising only works if the content stays current. DisplayFlow lets you manage the screen loop from your dashboard, swap adverts, update offers and keep notices current.

Managed content/design support may also be useful if you want help producing regular screen artwork.
